A good omen.

Write.

That is what my guidance has been telling me for quite some time now.

But perhaps like the seed, it’s all about timing.

I, like many people get impatient. I often feel like my fleeting time here on the planet is constantly being wasted (side note: what a concept! To think we could waste time!). But timing is such a precious thing.

Of all things, my garden has taught me this.

Have you ever planted a seed?

Just thinking about applying the concept of planting a seed in relationship to my own ridiculous concept of “wasting time” makes me laugh out loud.

We get so caught up in the importance of doing, don’t we?

So much so that we forget that the waiting is just as important as the doing.

Take planting a seed, for example.

The doing is obvious. We prepare the soil; we gather the seeds; we plant, then we water. We find a nice sunny windowsill for the tiny potential of life to flourish in. We create a nurturing environment.

And then we wait.

And we wait.

And we can really do nothing!

Oh god! Impatience at it’s best!

Have you ever tried to rush a seed into laying roots?

If you’ve ever planted a tiny seed, or nurtured any plant, you will know what I’m taking about from experience: disturb that little creature and it’s a sure recipe for death or if we’re lucky, delay in growth and potential.

Some hardy, resilient little creatures are sure to survive our mishaps with impatience, and others perish.

And we learn.

We learn to wait.

Today when the Ace of Pentacles presented itself to me in my daily tarot card of the day, I laughed with delight.

This is an omen for all of the beautiful projects, all of the creations that are laying down roots in the heart of my being.

It was also a reminder: be patient. The wait is never a waste of time.

This was just the reminder I needed.

You see, about a year ago I decided to completely deconstruct my healing/teaching/intuitive business. I knew it needed to be completely disassembled. I knew something (many things) needed to be composted and turned back into the soil.

I knew that I needed a different kind of foundation.

You see, any gardener knows, it’s about tending.

You cannot force seeds to root, nor plants to grow, any more you can force your soul’s calling to birth forth in form of a business that feels as authentic as your soul’s essence. This too takes tending, nurturing. It takes an environment that ensures rooting into something of substance: organic compost, fertile earth.

It requires The Wait.

I think we (or I really, as I’m speaking for myself here) misinterpret The Wait as a waste of time.

Because we are no longer “doing” anything, or perhaps “doing” something else or seemingly unrelated, we get tricked into thinking we are on the “wrong” path.

We are never on the wrong path. It’s just not possible.

Would you tell a seed that it’s laying down its roots the “wrong” way and in the “wrong” direction? Of course not!

The Intelligence, our soul intelligence that is, knows, whether we trust it or not, it just knows – as constant as gravity.
